I would think so. They say that a good amount of rest (not to mention good nutrition) is vital to the rebuilding of muscle, so if you constantly work a dog and don't give them time to recover, it wont benefit your conditioning program. I don't know what harm it would do to the dog, but I can't imagine it'd be good for them.

yes you can over work a dog.you have to put into thought when working a dog. and the harder you work them . what you are doing is breaking down muscle when you work them and those days off you are giving them a chance to rebuild that broken down muscle.

well that was my thought as well but there are those out there that say you can work them all day everyday an it would be good for them.... i have one that can be on the mill over an hour an not even be winded when you take her off and another one cant seem to handle half an hour.....

Not everyday no. The benefits of conditioning can be halted when you do it everyday. The muscle benefits by the process of tearing down and rebuilding.
If they are always broken down there is no heal time.
Typically, we like to think that a pitbull can take anything which is only partly true.
However, when you are working them too hard and causing pain and discomfort on a daily basis, not only are they not going to perform to the highest level but you could possibly permanently hurt them. Look into older conditioning regiments and you will see the time off is a must. Hope that answers your question..
