The test is fraudulant! There have been a number of accounts where people tested their pure bred dogs to have the test come back and say that they were off the wall mixes. Pitta is most likely exactly what you were told she is. She looks APBT but that little mark around her eye screams ABdog. Do yourself a favor and don't waste the money on a test, buy her some toys or something, you'll be much happier with the results.

I do NOT trust those DNA test. For one APBT isn't recognized by the AKC and a lot of the test go off of their registry, so in theory it should come back amstaf/something..but it ends up coming back border collie/boston terrier a LOT of the time.

I wouldn't do it.

Let us know what is says though!

well i just come back from the kennels(BULL>>>>) its funny because if i probably waited i wouldve taken y'alls advice from the moment i got there one guy comes up and says shes looked mixed with boxer and pit(yeah right), the next said mastiff, and pit and finally after 20 mins of pondering between 2 young guys and older guy coming to look at purchasing a "RE"from here says maan thats a nice abd/apbt, i then was told by the other 2 idiots itll be better to take the dna test for 49.99 for more positive results the old man then said the same as you all that those are a waist of $. wow what some people do for $ is crazy im just going to leave it alone shes PITTA abd/apbt andthats that. btw i saw some massive pits there thats the first time ive saw 110 lb pits they are so short a look like they dont do anything but eat,f#@k,& sleep' id hate for those dogs to really have to workout just imagine al bundy competing in an ironman contest. its a shame it really is, they need to put a stop to breeding those kinda dogs, they look worthless. you should see the cost theyre asking for these dogs 3-4k

I am glad you found out without spending crazy money...
i do not see how they can do a positive DNA test without a sample to compare it to like they do with baby daddy stuff)
Let her/him be whatever you want it to be...As the old debate goes...even with a pedigree are you really sure of what you are getting.

Correct me if I am wrong but I talked to someone at the adba about dna testing I thought this was done only to prove a litter belonged to the sire and dam? That there is no way to tell if your pup is pure blood by dna testing.

Since most of todays dogs where bred off of other breeds and so on and so forth through out the history of dogs, I just don't see how it could ever be accurate. No dog should come back pure bred.

The Kennel/Dog clubs don't DNA test for TYPE of dog, its just so you can prove what pups belong to what parents (ie if you have two studs involved in one litter you can tell which puppies belong to which stud)

Right this is basically what the adba told me when I inquired about it. But I remember her also telling me there is no test that can proove if a dog is a full blooded apbt. I never knew they had people out there preforming this test until I read this. I def wouldn't waste your money.
