Chickie

...the Bull Headed Daschund...

This is Chick, or Chickie as I call her...This past Saturday me and my
mom who is in town visiting made the mistake of stopping in at the
local Petsmart adoption event, and my heart really went out to this
little girl. She is so sweet, and so smart. She really has the heart
and soul of a pittie with little bittie leggies...I have had her all of
8hrs and she is already heeling like a pro, and has learned that her
new crate is her safe haven. But the first hour, in this house and I
almost immediately regretted my decision. She was a nut when she first
came into this home...she challenged me every which way she could. From
terrorizing the bird, trying to hump Sydney, and picking fights with
Sydney. Little Chickie came into this house thinking if no one else is
gonna be top dog I AM! WELL...I quickly snatched her off her high
horse, and put her in her place...she had no manners, and my mom could
barely hang onto her when she was on the leash, and she was in total
avoidance, total opposite from how she was where she was being housed.
So I got her a tiny little pinch collar, and off we went...and in no
time she was heeling beautifully! I stopped she stopped (no sitting
yet) and at dinner time Sydney got in her "place" Chickie ran around
the table a few times wanting to beg...then when she realized no one
was paying her any attention...went and got in her "box" (crate) and
layed down! I was floored surely this was not the same dog I brought
home just hours ago?!

I knew when I saw her at Petsmart I saw a misunderstood pup just
looking for a place to call her own, but who knew! She really has taken
well to the discipline and structure thus far, but tomorrow is a new
day...lets just hope it continues!

Chickie is,well...a very cute little red/rednose daschund/pit mix...she
has the head and muscular structure of a little pittie...but she has
the feet, legs and the long body of a daschund. Her ears sit like a pittie
but are long like a daschund...she has the cutest little face, great
strength and tolerance for her size, very type A personality, and super intelligent, an insanely high level of
energy...and LOVES water!

Great job with putting her in her place, and as far as her learning fast and getting better, I attribute that to the pit she has in her

Pit/dachshund mix, that's a hell of a combo..lol Cute though..

I hope the pit was the mom. lol
